Have you started drinking hot cocoa yet?  Have you pulled out your scarf?  Here in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks we certainly have!  The mornings are frosty and there are crisp, clear skies over the peaks!  We have even had our very first dustings of snow.  Why not come play in the snow with us this winter?  Get ready for a naturally magical holiday season in the national parks.  We’ve picked the most picturesque seasonal trails for  memory-making experiences.   We’ll provide sturdy snow shoes and an expert guide for our fun EdVentures.  Please email us at SFI@sequoiahistory.org for more details.  You can sign up for these trips at www.sequoiahistory.org.  We look forward to seeing you on the trail!

Pear Lake Ski Hut overnight  trip.
March 22, 23, 24, and coming back in on the 25, 2013
Have you dreamed of a trip to the Pear Lake backcountry ski hut?  We have designed a trip for YOU.  Two expert guides will be leading this 4 day/3 night snow shoe trip in Sequoia National Park.  The first day will be a strenuous 2,000’ elevation gain, 6.5 mile snow shoe walk in.  After a good night’s sleep you’ll have the opportunity to explore the Pear Lake basin for the day’s snow shoe hike.  If you’re inclined to relax and enjoy the views, nap and read a good book, you can do that, too.  The second day, another snow shoe walk to the Tablelands will be offered.  The last day you’ll snow shoe out with great photos and new goals!   Included:  2 guides, 3 nights lodging at Pear Lake ski hut, wilderness permit, snow shoes.  8 total participants.  $215 SNHA members /$247 non-members.  Rated:  Strenuous

These and more trips will be available in 2013.  Watch www.sequoiahistory.org for more information.  All proceeds from our trips support education and resource protection in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks.
