Visalia's Taste the Arts 5-Day Festival

Taste the Arts is an annual festival presented by the Arts Consortium.  This five-day event in downtown Visalia is a celebration of the rich artistic and cultural heritage of Tulare County.  Taste the Arts provdes a distinctive venue for many opportunities of artistic celebration.

September 27 through October 1, 2012

Thursday September 27
: Event kick-off with the 19th annual Waiters Race. Visalia's renowned Farmer's Market open from 5:00pm-8:00pm

Friday September 28: The Tulare County Symphony's free performance at the Visalia Fox Theatre. The Enchanted Playhouse Theatre Company's free performance of Hansel and Gretel at the Main Street Theatre. Live painting of Main Street fire hydrants.

Saturday September 29:  Downtown Fair Featuring...Regional artists booths, various art exhibits and contests, plus the opportunity to purchase artwork. Urban art show feature local and regional artists plus an aerosal art contest. Kids art activities, including VFMA's "Fun with Food" contest. Tulare County student art contest exhibit at 210 Connect. Visalia Visual Chronicle juried art show at Provost & Pritchard. Arts Visalia exhibit featuring "That Extra Dimension". Various youth, cultural and musical performances. "Print Works" art exhibition by the COS art department. Taste the Opera: Visalia Opera Company's debut performance at 210 at 7:00pm. Taste the Season: The Visalia Community Players perform vignettes from all the shows for the coming 2012-2013 Season. 7:30pm free performance at the Ice House Theatre.

Sunday September 30: Choral Showcase with Tulare County high school students and community choirs. Another Taste the Season performance: The Visalia Community Players perform vignettes from all the shows for the coming 2012-2013 Season. 2:00pm free matinee at the Ice House Theatre.

Monday October 1: Literary arts night with local authors and poets at 210 Connect. Downtown dance academies with Visalia's finest performing artists will open their doors to the public for free sample classes.
