Mr. Aceto studied organ with Robert Glasgow and James Kibbie, conducting with Kenneth Kiesler, and theory with the late Ellwood Derr (himself a student of Carl Orff). Mr. Aceto graduated summa cum laude from the School of Music where he sang in the University Choir and played in the University Orchestra. He continued his conducting studies with Otto Werner-Müller in Philadelphia and keyboard studies in Cannes, France with Mme. Colette Arikhbaieff-Dragacci. As a private student he had the opportunity to conduct the orchestras of the Cleveland and Curtis Institutes.

Mr. Aceto is a nationally renowned musicologist specializing in Broadway music from 1890-1930. At the Library of Congress are his scores and recordings of over 200 hours of music, are the first commercial recordings of the little-known masterworks of this era.
