Mather Mountain Party: An Evening at the Palace Hotel

Jul 14, 2015 | 05:00PM - 07:00PM
This commemorative event celebrates Visalia's important role in the creation of the National Park Service.

On July 14, 1915, a group of influential men met for dinner at the Palace Hotel in  downtown Visalia, California. Shortly after, they began a two week trek across the Sierra through Sequoia National Park. Inspired by their experience, these men laid the foundation for one of America's grandest success stories-the National Park System. President Wilson created the National Park Service (NPS) on August 25, 2016.

By invitation only.
