Taking Art to the Streets is held in coordination with a series of participatory arts activities offered at the Taste the Arts Festival. 12:00pm-5:00pm Provost and Pritchard Hosts the Visalia Visual Chronicle. Provost and Pritchard will be open during the Saturday Festival Street Fair to showcase the Visalia Visual Chronicle (VVC), a special project of the Arts Consortium. The VVC is a public art collection dedicated to all things Visalia. It travels throughout the community and solicits new entries and sponsors every even year. FREE and open to the public. 7:00pm-10:00pm The Loud Mouth Poetry Jam Presents: Taste of Slam. The Loud Mouth Poetry Jam, which celebrated its one year anniversary in July 2013, hosts a free Spoken Word Competition as a part of the Taste the Arts Festival. Listen to some extremely talented local poets and cheer for your favorite performance to cast your vote. FREE and open to the public. The Slam will be hosted at the Arts Consortium/My Voice Media Center: 400 N. Church St. in Downtown Visalia. One block North of Oak and one block West of Garden. 7:30pm The Tulare County Symphony Presents: Triumphant Tchaikovsky! Visit Vegas--complete with rhinestones and furs--with the Tulare County Symphony's October 19th concerto. Take a stop along the Main Street of America, Route 66...and cap it all off with the downright bubbly carbonation of Tchaikovsky's 4th Symphony.
